Northview, an IB World School is a school of choice within Iredell-Statesville Schools.  Our school currently holds 480 students in Levels 1, 2, and 3 of the Middle Years Programme (MYP).  The last two years are completed at South Iredell High School.  Next year will be an exciting year as we transition over to our new location and become Oakwood Middle School, an IB World School!  We will continue to provide a holistic approach to educating our students within the IB Framework.  There is no tuition for a student to attend Northview if a family resides in the I-SS District.  Only students who reside outside of Iredell County are required to pay an annual tuition fee that is established each summer.

Students are encouraged to apply for the MYP as rising 6th graders.  This allows for beginning the MYP journey and meeting the necessary requirements for successful completion of the programme.

As part of the application process, we will look at the following data points for each applicant:  responses from online application, student's most recent report card,  most recent benchmark assessment scores from this current school year (NC Check-ins 1, 2 and iReady Diagnostic 2), disciplinary record and attendance record, and if available End-of-Grade assessment data for Reading and Math from the previous year.  Applicants who are not currently enrolled in a school within the I-SS District should send these data points or the closest equivalent to Elisabeth White (

In some cases, we do accept students during Levels 2 & 3.  This is highly based on student readiness, student achievement in Math and Reading, and a background in a foreign language (Spanish, French, or Mandarin Chinese).  Meeting these requirements is mandatory to enter our programme as a 7th or 8th grader.  Students who do not meet these requirements will not be able to be enrolled.

We accept late applications but will not contact applicants unless we have an opening.  Upon receiving contact, we will then meet to discuss student academic readiness.

Any application received after January 29, 2021 is considered late.  Late applications will be placed on a waiting list and will be kept in a first come first served manner.  Enrollment for late applicants is subject to availability.

All late applicants will need to submit an application and obtain the following records from your student's school data manager:

____ Student's most recent report card

____ Student's most recent benchmark assessment scores from this current school year

____ Student's disciplinary record and attendance record

____ Student's End-of-Grade assessment data for Reading and Math from the previous year (if available)

**If coming from out of state or a private school, please provide any available state test/standardized test results for Reading and Math.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Nighthawk Nation at Northview!
